A reflective spiritual insight inspired by a sunrise over Lake Nagambie

Our travels have begun for 2026 and I am so looking forward to the insights they bring and to what I share in these journal writings. As I stepped from the caravan this morning, I was greeted with this glorious sight – sunrise over Lake Nagambie.
God in all Its magnificence. I stood in awe of this magical sight for several minutes before reaching for my phone to take a photo. So often we miss the significance of these moments with our need to somehow try to capture it and hold onto it as if we have the power to freeze things in time. Is this a silly notion or, is it simply a human trait of constantly trying to hold onto the physical things that we think will make us happy or healthy or wealthy?
Life is constantly flowing, and the only thing that blocks that flow is you and me. As with everything, this magnificent sunrise is resting on a backdrop of Pure Consciousness, or God consciousness which is constantly flowing. The image may certainly change, but the source of every moment presented to us remains the same, Pure Consciousness.
To stop and simply be still in these moments without word and without comment, is true prayer. In these moments of stillness, we allow the flow of Life itself move within us and through us. So next time you find yourself in a moment of magnificence, whether it be one of sight, sound, taste, smell or touch, don’t immediately reach for something to record the moment, but simply take the time to be ‘in’ that moment. This is when you truly connect to God. This is when Pure Consciousness is flowing in and through you uninhibited. It is always in the stillness and in the silence that we are one with God.
