Awakening to the Light of God

Spiritual Light – Spiritual Guidance

Walking the gorge overlooking a beautiful river in the High Country in Victoria, I found a fantastic place to sit on rocks and spend some time in contemplation. The sun was filtering down through the trees and created a sparkle on the water as it flowed downstream. So, I began to focus on the word ‘light’, and what this word meant to me in a spiritual sense. As I pondered, I asked Jesus if he could please shed some light on this (pardon the pun!) and below is the wisdom he shared.

Jesus: Think of your human bodies as windows. Some windows are boarded up so as not to let in any light at all. Then there are the stained-glass windows that will allow some light to shine through, and even though this light may be beautifully coloured, the stained glass is still stopping the light from shining its true brilliance through that window. Then there the dirty grimy windows. To allow the light to truly shine within your bodies, you have a choice to either open the window or make it completely transparent – no colour, no boards, no dirt or grime, just completely transparent so that the light can shine through and all can witness its brilliance.

In this transparent state the Light of God or Christ consciousness flows into your being. This is what happens when you have a ‘realisation’ of God. Witnessing or experiencing that Light, brings you closer to experiencing God. When you work towards becoming totally transparent, you are no longer trying to find God through blocked windows.

G: So I can slowly, slowly clean the windows, or take away the stained glass, or I can fling that window open and let every bit of light shine in and through me – the Light of Spirit – the Light of Christ consciousness! What would be a great way to describe this through nature, Jesus?

Jesus: A clear stream as opposed to a murky stream. Ask yourself the questions: what makes the stream murky? What makes a human body dirty or coloured or boarded up? What stops the light reaching into the stream? What stops the light streaming through a person’s consciousness? Find the answers to these questions and you will be well on the way to experiencing the Light of God.
