You Are Always One with God

We have been spending time in Byron Bay which is an extremely popular coastal town at the top of New South Wales just before entering Queensland. Most days we walked along Tallow beach which was amazingly beautiful, quiet, and truly inspiring … especially at sunrise. I would also sneak back at various times during the day to spend time in contemplation. It was the perfect place to ponder certain topics that were circulating through my mind, or to simply look around me to find wonderful metaphors to explain spiritual concepts – one of which is explained below.

I was contemplating the concept of …  “as the wave is one with the ocean so am I one with God”. The truth is that you can never lift a wave out of the ocean. It is impossible to lift a wave from the ocean because the wave is always connected to the ocean, and every wave is connected to each other. They are all part of the whole ocean. This is what I heard:

It is the same with your connection to God. You are always one with God. You cannot lift yourself out of God. You may, at times, feel separated, you may feel distanced, you may even feel as if you are totally disconnected, and yet the truth remains the same … you are still one with God. God is within you, and you are in God. God is your creator, and your maintainer and sustainer.

When physical life becomes challenging or difficult, always remind yourself of the wave and the ocean, which will in turn, remind you of your connection to the Divine … your oneness with Spirit. You can never lose this connection. Just as the wave rolls back into the ocean, let yourself roll back into the loving, caring, and compassionate arms of God. Also remember that below those huge waves in the ocean is a beautiful calm, and this is another beautiful metaphor helping you to understand that below the challenges and the struggles there is a calm to be found in … You are one with God, and God will never leave you.
