A Banquet for the Soul – Geraldine Teggelove

Spiritual Awakening Spiritual Enlightenment

Out walking this morning, I was drawn to taking a video of these little ants feeding furiously from something dropped on the pathway. On closer inspection, it was clear that each little ant seemed to know exactly where it was going and what it needed to do, even though to us humans it looks like nothing but chaos.

Question: Jesus, what is the learning within this image of the ants feeding?

Jesus: What does this remind you of? Where was that?

G: it’s like bees drawn to a honeypot.

Jesus: Tell me, what are the ants doing?

G: They are all coming to feed. Coming to a source of food.

Jesus: That is exactly right! So how does that source of food relate to you and your life?

G: For me, the food would not necessarily be food as in something to eat, but more about feeding on the ‘Word’ – meaning, the ‘Word of God’.

Jesus: Exactly! So, all people come to the Source to feed on the Word.

G  But what if they’re not ready to know God’s Word or to hear God’s Word?

Jesus: So tell me, what is God’s food? What does God feed people through the word?

G: God feeds people with love, peace, kindness, compassion, health, wealth, joy, forgiveness, etc. etc. All those things!

Jesus: Some people will come to feed on the Word to grow their consciousness and awareness of God, but only when they are ready. Others will come to feed on the Word of kindness, compassion, love, gentleness and peace. It is your task to feed all people through the Word, regardless of what they need for nourishment.

G: So, is this how you fed the people, Jesus? You fed people with the Word, and they simply took what was needed in that moment?

Jesus: You are now really getting it! The word of God is a rich banquet from which all can feed. Some may partake of the whole meal, others may simply nibble on crumbs, but all will eat enough to sustain them in that moment. Regardless of how much or how little is consumed, they’re all still feeding from the banquet of the word.
